This is a light mystery set on a railway in southern Ontario, Canada .A railway engineer is murdered and the company police constable, Mike Donovan, is sent to make a report for the railway. The killing was a result of another, minor crime being committed by railway employees.

In the end, justice is served by Karma and Mike Donovan's generous heart.
