Murder of Innocence: The Tragic Life and Final Rampage of Laurie Dann, the Schoolhouse Killer

one of the best true crime books i've read

this is one of the saddest books i ever read.laurie dann was a very troubled mentally ill young woman who went on a shooting spree in a elementary school in 1988 in illinois, usa injuring many and killing one innocent child.this was a tradegy i feel that was very preventable.everybody who had contact with her knew she was deeply disturbed and possibly dangerous.she even stabbed her ex husband with a ice pick in his sleep but without enough evidence she could'nt be charged.the author does a great job on detailing the decline into insanity of this young somewhat attractive lady.for anyone who loves true crime,i highly recommend this book.

Excellent!

There is a movie, as the same titleexcellent everythingthere is people, like me, who feel REFLEX on this story (personality)

More Frightening Than Any Horror Novel!

Without a doubt, this is the most terrifying book I have ever read. The authors relate Dann's disintegration in horrific detail, and depict her, hurricane-like, destroying mutiple lives as she comes to her own violent end.

Could it happen to you?

After reading 'Day of Fury' about the Laurie Dann tragedy, I was hoping that there would be another book out there to bring more facts to the table. I found just that in 'Murder of Innocence'. I think this book goes more in depth than the Egginton book. Especially concerning Laurie's activities outside of the Chicago area, specifically her college days. This book brings out the methodical way Laurie would 'set up' an incident and seemingly follow it up with a hollywood performance. The made-for-TV movie starring Valerie Bertinelli doesn't do this book or story justice. Only Oliver Stone could....lol. A must read for anyone from Chicago or even the Madison, Wisconsin area.
