Skiing and Dead Bodies Don't Mix

Liz is at a ski resort getting ready for the wedding of her cousin. She thinks her biggest challenges will be her overbearing grandmother and staying out of the path of her former fiance Tim. If she can just get through the weekend it will be all over. However, when a dead body shows up on the slopes, Liz finds herself having to stay close to Tim to find out who the murderer is. Will the two be able to join forces or will their past come back and tear them apart again? The first thing that came to mind while reading this book was: Nancy Drew. This book totally brought me back to days of my childhood and reading tales of that famous female sleuth. Something about ski resorts and murders makes me think of Nancy for some reason. This story was very cozy and comforting to read. I've never been skiing before in my life so I live vicariously through books about skiing. This story shows a wonderful ski resort that just happens to have a dead body on it. I really enjoyed the mystery and I did not predict the outcome. I was totally guessing it to be someone obvious and unfortunately I was wrong. Liz and Tim have great chemistry together and I really enjoyed reading about wedding planning. Liz's grandmother got on my nerves a lot during the book. She was just plain mean and rude and obviously favored one cousin over the other. I didn't understand though where everyone's parents were though. Maybe I missed it but it seemed quite weird that there was a wedding and no one's parents were around. I've enjoyed every book that Virginia has written so far and I'm really enjoying these suspense books she's written for the Love Inspired line. They are just the kind of short romantic suspense stories that I like with lots of action, good romance, and an engaging storyline. Well done and I can't wait for more mysteries from Virginia!

Romance, Murder, adventure all in one

Fantastic. With every book Virginia Smith writes, she gets better and better. I read this book in 2 sittings so be advised. I have never been on a pair of skis but the younger me would have tried anything. I have watched a lot of sking on tv so could envision this book as I read it. The break in at Liz's apartment and then they go from Kentucky to Eagle Summit for her cousin's wedding and the attacks upon her and break ins did not stop. I am not going to give away what the killer and people were after. This story traces all the way back to British rule and a great-great-great-great-grandmother. The tradition at the wedding was never fully understood but just passed on from one generation to another. I really loved how Liz and Tim were looking for the mate God had for them and sometimes events can cause one to have cold feet. Yet love will eventually win out. One holds their breath when Liz is captured hoping and praying that Tim can save her in time. Virginia has lots of twists and events in this story and it holds your attention from beginning to end.

Murder at Eagle Summit

This book is very hard to know "who done it" and I think you will be surprised when you find out. Liz Carmichael lives in Kentucky where she and two of her friends have a small band to play at weddings etc. Liz used to live in Utah but had a bad break-up with her boy friend and moved away but her cousin Debbie wanted them to play at her wedding. So the three go to Utah where the former boy friend was going to be best man. Liz had already had two break-in at her appartment in Kentucky but nothing was ever taken just everything ramshakled. When they got to the ski resort at Eagle Summit, she had someone come into her condo again while she was out, then she saw someone on the ski lift at 1:am one morning and that was a mystery. So the story goes on to entail all of that and she met her grandmother there who was very bossy and wanted everything her way. So the moral of the story is go buy the book so that you can read what really happened. I could not put it down and read it all one night. I am not a writer so it is hard for me to write a review but I believe that if you like mysteries you will love this one.
