Mrs. Jeffries- Excellent series

I must say I really enjoy reading this Victorian Series, about the maid and her household and how they help solve Witherspoon's murder's without his knowledge. Look forward to reading more in the series.

Loved it

This is one of my favorite in the series, because the twist (in regards to who the killer is and how he/she pulled off the killing) was completely unexpected and deviously clever. The Mrs. Jeffries series is by far my favorite of the British cozies: fantastic and colorful characters, humor, very minimal blood, no gore, nor cursing, and excellent plotlines. If you're a cozy fan, you simply must start reading this series.

A perfectly delightful Victorian mystery.

This is the second book in the Mrs. Jeffries series, and I found it a much better story than the first one. I also found that Ms. Brightwell's characters are developing quite nicely. Luty Belle is actually quite wonderful, and Mrs. Jeffries fellow domestics are perfect gems. In this book a dead girl is found buried in the basement of an abandoned house, and poor Inspector Witherspoon is again out of his element trying to solve a murder case that is a few months old (determined by the state of the corpse when it was found). Mrs. Jeffries and her crew are asked by the above-mentioned Luty Belle to find a missing parlour maid that happens to be her friend. Are these two instances connected? Mrs. Jeffries certainly thinks so, so she sends her helpers on various errands to try to solve the mysteries. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this light-hearted series.

Mrs. Jeffries Does it Again!

This is the 2nd book in the series. On the heals of their first case, Mrs. Jeffries and staff once again set out to help Inspector Witherspoon of Scotland Yard solve a baffling mystery. This case revolves around the disappearance of a servant girl and of a valuable brooch. Fortunately, the brooch is found. Unfortunately, it's found on a murdered woman, but it is not the woman who orginally had the brooch. Where is the servant? Why was the woman murdered? The staff and their many resources team up to help in the Inspector in this cozy mystery. If you have not tried any of the books in this series and you like British cozies, now is the time to start. A lot of the books are hard to find, but may be available at your library if not available here. I recommend these for a light read on a lazy day.The first book in the series is "The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries". Enjoy!

A good read

While I haven't read the whole Mrs. Jeffries series, this is so far my favorite one. There are plenty of wrong turns, red herrings to go around in this one, and Mrs. Jeffries is exceptionally challenged in passing on the household staffs clues to their Inspector without his suspecting their assistance.
