With her mother's help, Elizabeth Ann sets up a tea party in the rose arbor and waits for her imaginary friend to come. This description may be from another edition of this product.
My copy also is worn from reading this book not only to my own daughter when she was little but the countless children who come for tea at my cafe. It is absolutely delightful and wish I could find a hard copy to keep.
Great Book

I loved this book as a child and I love reading this book to my daughter now. It has colorful pictures and a great character, determined that her friend, Mrs. Gigglebelly, is coming for tea. Her mother insists that Mrs. Gigglebelly is probably much too busy to come to tea today, but her daughter waits and waits and waits! It has a great twist and a great moral. I love this book.
Sweet and touching

I totally disagree with the editorial review here. The illustrations are sweet and the story adorable. I was saddened to see it was out of print, as my one copy is so worn out from use. My three girls have loved this story since they got it years ago. It has such a good lesson, that no matter how busy the Mommy is, she (as Mrs. Gigglebelly, anyway) always has time for her little girl, so long as the girl is patient. And the first time each of my daughters found out that Mrs. Gigglebelly was really the mother in disguised, was priceless. In my opinion, this book is a classic. Go to the library and read it to your little one, I bet you'll agree.
