From Maryann Reid, the award-winning author of Sex and the Single Sister, comes Mrs. Big.
Loletta Hightower likes to live big: exotic vacations, designer clothing, trips to the spa. But it gets harder and harder to support her lavish lifestyle working the reception desk at a luxury car dealership. And though Loletta can con athletes, celebrities, and wealthy businessmen into taking care of her bills for a few...
Mrs Big is one of my latest reads and I must say I was turning pages faster than u can say hit me. I enjoyed this book because the character Loletta Hightower reminded me of myself. She was a go getter, well manicured, stunningly dressed, gold digger. But she also worked hard on her 9-5, went to college and had a mother who she supported. She ends up hooking up with a guy who she overlooked in college who is now playing pro basketball and she thinks she got the goat but what she ends up with is spoiled milk. You gotta read this book to get all the details of her horrific marriage but its worth it if you like drama and shopping sprees.

Maryann Reid's newest offering, Mrs. Big introduces readers to Loletta Hightower. She is all about designer clothes, trips to the spa and lavish vacations. She is a receptionist for a luxury car dealer. She is living in an expensive apartment with her mother (Mrs. Hightower). She meets rich men and they support her for a few months at a time. She is tired of the temporary support and is ready to walk down the aisle. Loletta is looking for a husband, but not just any man. Her ideal man has lots of money and is willing to spend it on her and her mother. Loletta sees a former classmate, Kavon "Big" Jackson at the dealership where she works. She talks to him at the dealership and soon after their meeting they become a couple. They are engaged and married after their meeting. Kavon has just signed a new NBA contract with another team so he has plenty of money to spend. Loletta gets much more than she ever bargained for. Mrs. Big is a very entertaining novel. This book is filled with drama and held my attention to the very end. This read was well-written and it seemed as though I knew the characters. There were times where I found myself yelling about the things the characters were doing. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to others. Although this is my first time reading Ms. Reid's work, it will definitely not be my last. Reviewed by Phyllis Ann APOOO BookClub

I read some of the other reviews and was kinda of leery about reading this book. I am happy I read it and I enjoyed it. It teachs a valuable lesson and I like the way Loletta matured by the end of the book. It goes to show that the grass is not always greener on the other side and I think a lot of young women could learn from this book.
How Big...How Far?!?

Mrs. Reid has yet again given us another drama filled book:) Just how far and low are you willing to go to have the glamorous life? According to Loletta, very low and far. Loletta has been raised to have all the finest things life can offer, at any and all cost, with the coach of a gold digging mother leaning on her shoulders and pushing her; she soon marries into the life style she's looking for; but she realizes all glitter isn't gold and putting all her eggs in one basket umm...can be stupid. She meets Kavon, who happens to be a muti-millionaire and gives her everything her heart wants including his last name 'Big'/Jackson. After several months of marriage she finds out what its like to live the life of a NBA star's wife and its nothing pretty or glamorous about it. With the help of a few close friends and her father. She learns to stand on her own two feet and live her life the way she wants. Go through this difficult journey with Lolatta and feel her pain and strength. Its well worth it! Another Great Job well done...the book leaves us kinda hangin'. Enough for a sequel:)
