Anything I read written by Carolyn McSparren is most enjoyable. She writes strong female characters with backbone and brains and hero who are just that: heroic. A great read, even more so for horselovers!
Enjoyable ranch romance
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
Jamey McLachlan is pretty certain that the horse sold in Belgium and now residing in Tennessee is the same stallion stolen from his deceased stepfather's ranch. Jamey swore to Jock's memory that Roman would be siring a new breed of Scottish sport horses before the millennium began. To make sure the horse grazing at VallyCrest is his family's stolen steed, Jamey pretends to be a wanderer able to work with stubborn horses. The owner of VallyCrest, Victoria Jameson hires Jamey as an exercise rider, hoping he will calm down their newest horse Mr. Miracle, recently bought in Belgium. As Jamey works on the Tennessee spread, he concludes that the horse her niece's spouse bought in Europe belongs to his family. However, a complication has set in as he has fallen in love with his boss, a feeling she reciprocates. He now wonders how to tells his beloved the truth when she probably will never talk to him again for failing to confide in her from the first day he arrived on her ranch. Mr. Miracle is an enjoyable ranch romance starring two lovable characters who have suffered in the past. The story line provides much pleasure as Jamey and Vic fall in love, but they need a miracle to overcome the dark side of their hearts left behind from previous relationships. Jamey also struggles with the Grand Canyon of a hole he dug for himself by hiding the truth from his beloved. Carolyn McSparren writes a fun romantic tale that continues the super literary celebration of the upcoming Y2K.Harriet Klausner
