LaGarde et Michard - 20th Century

The copy I received from the vendor was in perfect shape - no marks of any kind. The volume is divided into sections on drama, poetry and novels, and provides excerpts from each author's works as well as biographical details and literary analysis. I haven't yet had time to give it a thorough reading (I'm still working on the Lagarde et Michard volume on the 18th century), but I have sampled the chapters on Marguerite Yourcenar, Colette and Roger Martin du Gard. There are substantial sections on Gide and Proust that I look forward to reading in more depth, as well as entries on French authors with whom I am less familiar. This is an invaluable literary survey that not only helps to fill in gaps in my knowledge, but also provides a context for some of my favorite authors.
