Learn how to paint mountains and moorlands in their very different moods in dramatic and inspiring landscapes. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I recently "discovered" the beautiful talent of David Bellamy. I have acquired 6 of his books. I just received this one in the mail and took the time to read its 80 colorful pages. He starts out with the usual discussion of paper, paint, and brushes, and then moves to finding subjects. He encourages sketching along with photos as a basis of good watercolor design. He talks about adding people and /or animals, but cautions that if not done carefully, they will become the focus of the painting. He discusses composition, types of trees, water and reflections, and of course , rocks and crags. He has amazingly beautiful examples throughout the book. There are 4 scenes that are shown step by step. Every page has at least one example of his work, either from a sketchbook, demo, or a finished painting. His skies add to his compositions to add atmosphere and mood to his work. You won't be sorry that you bought this book.
