Lifelike characters and a fascinating story!

Smart, fast, and a fascinating read, Mortal Judgements delivers a story that shouldn't be missed by any fan of suspense. In Vicki Shea, Peak has created a character who is lifelike in her flaws and doubts, yet extremely capable and enthralling. She's a down-to-earth, confident woman who is not afraid to go after what she wants. At the same time she shares the same worries and doubts as any person, making her a fun character you won't want to let go of on the last page. Peak will attract both lovers of mysteries and intellects with his intelligent prose and story twists. I strongly recommend it!!

The medical-legal thriller sub-genre attains a new peak

At Whittington Hospital, an affiliate of the California University system, Dr. Arnold Jones is stunned when his wealthy patient dies during surgery for no apparent reason. The coroner makes a ruling on probable cause and all the medical boards clear Dr. Jones of negligence. However, the spouse of the deceased sues Dr. Jones for malpractice.
