There is the old adage, "What goes up, must come down!" !" Although this principle may not always be true, it usually is as it relates to our spiritual lives. In God's dealings with His people, there is always a Divine objective. As the writer of Hebrews states, "He takes away the first in order to establish the second" (Heb. 11:9b). "And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, in order that you may know that it is I, the Lord God of Israel, who calls you by your name" (Is. 45:3). Once you have seen something you can no longer unsee it. The true test becomes, 'Will we be "disobedient to the heavenly vision?" God is not in the habit of revealing visions, dreams, prophetic words, and doctrinal revelations for the sake of our own edification alone, nor our selfish ambitions. He give us glimpses of these things in order that He might to glorified in His Church, "for the common good," and in order that we might "serve the purposes of God in our generation."
