Each story is headed by, or ends with a quote. My favorite is from Eric Hoffer: "We're made kind by being kind." The reader senses that this is Lynn Ruth Miller's driving philosophy of life and certainly the author's humanity is evident in each of the quirky tales in "More Thoughts While Walking the Dog."
