In the modern world of political correctness, ethnic jokes can only be told by people of the ethnic class being panned, which means that the author must be of Jewish-Irish heritage. As long as you are tolerant of jokes that make fun of either the Irish or Jews, then you will find this book funny. Given that most of the Irish jokes involve a love of strong drink or fighting, most Irish people will find them funny. Quite frankly, the Jewish jokes are almost all based on stereotypes and clichés, so a bit more tolerance is necessary from that group. My favorite joke in the entire collection is on page 90 of the Jewish joke section: "'It won't be long now!' said the rabbi as he circumcised the little boy." Laughing at these jokes requires a suspension of your political correctness restrictions, if you can't do that then they are not funny. However, if you can put the restrictions aside for a moment, there are some very funny jokes in this book.
