The Best Book I Ever Read

Marnelle Tokio. More Than You Can Chew. Canada: Tundra Books, 2003. 234 pages. The novel More Than You Can Chew was a wonderful story of a teen named Marty that struggles with anorexia. Marty ends up pulled out of high school and put into an eating disorder unit called Silver Lake. She goes there because she says "Dead girls don't graduate,". In the beginning she is not excepting the fact that she has to stay in a hospital with other girls. The book tells about her changes and relationships with the other girls in the unit. Also it takes you through the mind of an anorexic. You see her failures, her troubles, her obstacles, and her achievements. This book was outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a tear -jerker!

Snappy!

This book sizzles! I felt like I was a bowling ball -- continuously bowled over by Ms. Tokio's brilliant one liners. It's well written, gritty, hilarious. It breaks rules, jumps over the "lines" (conventional literary lines, that is), yet remains accessable every inch of the way.Eat it up!
