So close, yet so far...

Excerpted from my review blog post at: [..] I was quickly interested in the idea that the main characters, Alex and Evelyn, were living very similar lives and catching glimpses of each other without actually meeting each other. The anticipation built as both became intrigued by the other wondering what it would be like to have more than chance encounters without even talking. The book spans ten days and is divided into sections by the day, which is then subdivided into chapters. It was easy to forget that everything was happening in such a short amount of time since it was filled with events and major life changes.

Loved It!

While this book was not what I expected, I still loved it. It made me want to yell at the characters and tell them to get thier act together! I have not read any of her other books and this showed up in my recommendations. It does make you ask "what if"?

Best Chick Lit, The Latinidad List 2008

Though a happy ending is certain, you can't wait to get there. I publish The Latinidad List, an annual round-up of the best books by and/or for Latinos, and More Than This by Margo Candela is a standout among 2008's chick lit. What if.... delivers

More Than This brings the reader to question, what if? What if I had talked to that guy on the train? What if I had taken an earlier flight? What if? Margo's characters deal with their real lives (she's a poor little rich girl - he's a high powered lawyer with a conscious) but keep running into each other and keep a fantasy life of what if. It's an enjoyable read and hard to put down.

A story that stays with you

One of the coolest things about being an author is knowing other authors. Not only do you find a sympathetic ear but you also get to read great books before everyone else. When Margo handed me an advanced reading copy, I was hooked from page one and neglected my husband that same night until I reached the end. Margo's novel, More Than This is about Alexander and Evelyn, two strangers for whom after just one look, experience that magical spark of attraction. More Than This is the story before the love story as they become the people meant for one another. If you haven't read one of Margo's books, you're in for treat!
