Solid sequel, still timely 20 years later.

This shares much with the first Max Danger book: - Very funny - Still strikes home after 20 years - It catches so many "Lost in Translation" experiences (20 years pre-movie) that it robs the reader of any desire to write about Japan, "Because Collins already wrote about it..." If you enjoyed the first, the second is much more of the same - in the most positive sense of the word. That said, the humor might be lost on the non-Japanophile.

Not as funny as the first, but still good

While not as funny overall as the first "Max Danger" collections, I still love this book as much as when I first read it in the late 1980s. It has some more poignant essays (the chanper about the shoe repair man, or the Tokyo Olympics) than the first, but also has some hysterically funny chapters (the company wedding!) for anyone familar with Japanese popular culture.
