Wonderful Recipes!

Moorish Food by Sarah Woodward is a lovely book with beautiful photographs and wonderful recipes, but unfortunately it is the exact same book as another cookbook she wrote that I have Tastes of North Africa which has the exact same photographs and recipes with no diffences inside, which was really disappointing. The only differences were the title and photograph on the front cover they're different, but otherwise the two books are identical, this is a very important point to be aware of, if you're ordering these two books. Either buy Moorish Food or buy Tastes of North Africa, but don't buy both of them! I sent back Moorish Food as it was the exact same book as Tastes of North Africa, even though it's a lovely book. I wouldn't have minded if a few photographsa and few recipes were the same, but not 100% the same book. I was very sorry that it wasn't a book of authentic Moorish recipes, I would have enjoyed that, although her Moroccan recipes , that's really what it is are wonderful , and I have lots of Moroccan cookbooks. I've made several recipes from Tastes of North Africa ; vegetables, salads and wonderful sea bass with a marinade from Fez , a city my husband I both love.

A highly recommended cornucopia of delicious recipes

In Moorish Food, author and culinary expert Sarah Woodward showcases a cuisine that is the result of an historical blending of cultures and ingredients forming a distinctive Moorish tradition for the table. From Ramadan Soup; Aubergine Salad; Marinated Monkfish; and Sweet Tagine of lamb with Raisins and Almonds; to Escabeche of Partridge; Couscous with Seven Vegetables; Pears in Honey and Saffron; and Almond Milk, Moorish Food is a highly recommended cornucopia of delicious recipes that would grace any meal and satisfy even the most demanding palate.

Old-World recipies for laymen

There were only two terms I had to look up. It helps to have some background with Mediterranean ingredients, but not terribly necessary. Most recipes made use of a variety of spices, so there was some major shopping to do before hand. This, though is to be expected when trying new recipes of any flavor. The pictures made things easy to want and the instructions made things easy to follow. The finished products were delectable. Large-family cooking for all special occasions!
