Mining for gold in Monterey

This is an excellent book, an easy read, and a painless way to pick up on a little California history. I think anyone from the age of about 12 on up would enjoy this book, and it would be an excellent and fun choice for a school book report for the student of California history at any grade level. It is must-read for anyone interested in the history of Monterey County. Who knew that the Monterey had such a rich history of gold mining in those beautiful, rugged hills?
