Brilliant. The fun, short text and vibrant illustrations grab my daughter's attention every single time we read this book to her. Our family LOVES this book! My husband especially likes it because of the voice he can do for the monster characters.

Primal and raw, like a monster should be, but also tender and to the point, like a hug. David Ezra Stein imparts straightforward but vivid text and lively, just rough-enough illustrations a child can grasp and identify. 'Monster Hug' recounts the day in the life of a monster by being full of monster sized humor and action and also childlike vulnerability. A sweet book!
