Every year in the U.S., billions of coupons are distributed by manufacturers and retailers, but only a fraction of these coupons are actually converted into cash savings by consumers. In an article published by the Federal Trade Commision (FTC) entitled, "Costly Coupon Scams", I learned that, "More than 3,000 manufacturers distribute nearly 330 billion coupons -- worth an estimated $280 billion -- every year in an effort to help consumers save money. Indeed, it is thought that 77 percent of American households use some eight billion coupons to save $4.7 billion on their grocery bills." When we analyze the numbers, you can see why I say only a fraction of the coupons distributed are converted into actual savings. Out of 330 billion coupons distributed only 8 billion are redeemed. That's a measly 2.4%. If you think that's low, wait it gets shockingly worse. Of the $280 billion potential savings, only $4.7 billion is actually saved. That's a lowly 1.7%. This means that consumers throw away $275.3 billion dollars worth of coupons on an annual basis. I can honestly say I was one of these individuals. Maybe you are too, but after reading this book I hope that changes. Couponing has become more than a pastime; now it's a full time or second job for many! With the way the economy has been, couponing is a great way to save money. Everyone wants to save money, but to simultaneously earn it is even better. This book will teach you how to do just that. Saving money is the best thing ever!!!
