Mona Lisa Darkening- A Joyfully Recommended Title

Mona Lisa is finally settling into her life in Louisiana as Queen of her territory, and while there have been many stumbling blocks in her path, life is finally settling down. However, that only lasts until Mona Lisa sets to bask and share the life-renewing lunar rays with her people. While basking, a dark shadow travels down along the moonlight and engulfs Mona Lisa taking her out of the realm of the living and drops her in the middle of NetherHell, a place few know about and that has no escape. Not only that, this being the plane of the condemned has given the essence of Mona Luisa that Mona Lisa carries within her stronger than before - strong enough to take over Mona Lisa's body. Will Mona Lisa survive living in NetherHell? She shares her body with Mona Luisa, she has been captured by a Gargoyle for breeding purposes, and there seems to be no escape back into Hell or the living realm. But will the love of her men be strong enough to cross borders long ago sealed by the High Lord of Hell and the lines drawn within themselves of good versus evil? Mona Lisa Darkening is a spectacular continuation of the Children of the Moon series that moves this series from interesting and enthralling to an extraordinarily riveting series that will hook you from the first book and always, always leaving you wanting for more of Mona Lisa and her motley family that she has created for herself. In this installment, Sunny has done a masterful job in this book of delving into Mona Lisa's depths and exploring her as a woman, as a queen and as a child of the moon - a Monère woman. For the most part, this book is entirely about Mona Lisa and how she finally comes to terms with who she is, what she is becoming and what she means to those around her - but it's not until she almost loses it all that she realizes how much she loves being who she is - a Monère Queen. I must admit that I loved this book so much that I felt cheated when I turned the last page and there was no more to read, leaving me anxiously awaiting for the next installment of this spectacular series. Mona Lisa Darkening is an incredible book that will hook you into the fantastic universe that Sunny has created for the Monère and the rich characters that inhabit this wonderful landscape. Do get yourself Mona Lisa Darkening as it is an action packed book that is bound to make you a fan of Sunny and the Children of the Moon series! Sabella Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

...is another adventure in the never monotonous life of the mixed breed Queen of the Mon`ere people.

The Mon`ere are hive type society that depends on their Queen for their well-being. When the vernal equinox comes Mona Lisa should be replenishing her people, she however finds herself drawn and trapped in NetherHell, the real realm of the damned. The barrier now at it's thinnest lets Mona Lisa's first love enter into NetherHell to try to rescue her. With only limited time to do so he will first have to battle the Gargoyle Warlord who has captured Mona Lisa. The Warlord however has other plans, and they only include him and Mona Lisa. Mona Lisa also has to struggle with the essence of the evil Queen she defeated and killed who shares her body. Along with everything else that is taking place both will struggle for dominance. The question becomes who will be strong enough to continue to exist? This feisty heroine is always finding herself in one jam or another. Sunny's, MONA LISA DARKENING is another adventure in the never monotonous life of the mixed breed Queen of the Mon`ere people. The heroine Mona Lisa once again narrates this electric new chapter in her life in the first person. This time Mona Lisa finds herself in the precarious position of choosing between her own desires and the needs of her people. How does a Queen who isn't there still able to continue to be everything that her people need? Mona Lisa is literally torn between two worlds. I love Sunny's work and have read each of her stories about the mix breed Queen, Mona Lisa. She has yet to let me down. This story doesn't have as much sexual tension as the others in the past but trust me there is plenty to keep things purring. Sunny instead takes us a little deeper in the heroine's character and her own consciousness. That alone makes MONA LISA DARKENING a winner for this reviewer! I love this series

This is a very entertaining and interesting series, you never know what is going to happen next. The WHOLE SERIES has taken place in a two month period of time!

unique erotic urban fantasy saga

Queen of the Louisiana Monere Children of the Moon Mona Lisa behaves very differently towards her followers than her peers. She treats her subjects with respect rather than contempt. Perhaps it is her being the only half-breed Monere queen or her having lived amongst the humans. On the night of the vernal equinox, Mona takers her followers outside in the bayou to celebrate the holiday by drawing on rejuvenating power of the light. However, under the full moon, something goes wrong; instead of light Mona is cocooned in an eerie darkness. While some of her shocked subjects remain paralyzed with fear and others want to act but don't know at who or what, she vanishes. In the realm of the damned, a gargoyle captures her while the evil Monere queen Mona Louisa tries to take control of Mona Lisa's body. However a hero will step forth to go into hell for the heavenly cause of rescuing Mona or being damned for eternity if he fails. Using an excellent twist, Sunny totally refreshes her unique erotic urban fantasy saga. A simple celebration turns dangerous for Mona Lisa while her loyal followers feel helpless and concerned as they do not know what happened to their beloved queen, whose involved or what to do; their frustrations enhance Mona's trek through Netherhell, the realm of the damned that makes Dante's depiction look PG. The superb DARKENING focuses mostly on a beleaguered Mona as she struggles to survive while trying to control her appetite of wanting the hard gargoyle inside her and not succumbing to the sexual desires if becoming enslaved to him. The best yet in the series!

Missing! Mona Lisa has been taken against her will by a dark light from the moon only to find herself in NetherHell. What horrors await her in this realm of the damned? Mona Lisa is about to find herself in for the fight of her life, as Mona Louisa's essence is much stronger in NetherHell and there appears to be no way back home.... MONA LISA DARKENING is without a shadow of a doubt the best book yet in the Monére series! Sunny expertly combines a phenomenal tale together with Mona Lisa's alluring charm to create a gem of a story. MONA LISA DARKENING can be read as a stand alone as the past history is briefly summarized. However, Mona Lisa's relationships are complex and the nuances might be missed by jumping right into this series with MONA LISA DARKENING without the prior history. The force of Mona Lisa's personality is what has made this series so successful. MONA LISA DARKENING finds Mona Lisa alone in NetherHell without all of her assorted men. Her strength and endurance, coupled with her deep compassion in such an uncaring world like NetherHell, only serve to make her character stronger. Sunny does a beautiful job at continuing to develop Mona Lisa's personality rather than allowing her to stagnate. MONA LISA DARKENING is superb. Sunny shows that her characters and stories have the sort of depth needed to make the Monére series a lasting one. The world building of NetherHell is extraordinarily well done and serves as the ideal backdrop for a story such as this one. MONA LISA DARKENING is diabolically clever and sure to be an instant hit!
