These stories have been my favorite since I was little. I would always sit down with it and read them over and over again. Now it's years later. I'm an adult, and I still love them just as much and read the Christmas one every year on Christmas eve :)

I don't think you can wrong with the American Girl books. The stories are wonderful. If you can't afford the hard cover these are just as wonderful. Keep them in the box and the books will stay nice and neat for many hours of reading. We especially love the Molly books because it is close enough in history that our daughters can relate (this happened when grandma was a girl).
Will Help Your Child Love to Read

Molly Mcintire, a young girl living in America during World War 2, faces many challenges in her life. Her father is off fighting in the war. He brother, Ricky, is a pest. Her sister has discovered boys and other things about growing up, and has little time fro Molly. And her little brother is just silly, and doesn't understand the war. But Molly certainly does. She understands that collecting recyclables for the war effort will help to bring her father home sooner ( and will win her and her friends the class competition). She understands that she must eat the icky turnips from the victory garden for the war effort. And she understands that she has to wear her brother's old galoshes because the rubber is, of course, needed for the war effort. Despite all the challenges, Molly manages to remain cheerful, even when Ricky ruins their Halloween when he surprise attacks her and her friend with a hose. But at the end of the story, all of Molly's hard work pays off - in the most beautiful way you can expect. A very, very sweets series. I loved it as a child, and I suggest reading it to young children.

I own this book and read it ALL the time. It's a wounderful work of literature and has all of Molly's stories from MEET MOLLY to CHANGES FOR MOLLY without changing a word from the original MOLLY books. I love the American Girl books, and this is a fast way to collect Molly's charming saga. I would recomend this with five stars to any girl- or boy! -ages seven to eleven.
