This is an interesting book on modern combat aircraft design. It is well written and simple to follow and understand making it accessible to a wide audience with an interest in combat aircraft. The book is very informative, with great pictures, good illustrations and descriptions. However, the book can do with updates to take into account some of the developments that have taken place in the 20 years since its publication.
good overview

I'm an aerospace grad student and I want to work for a defense contractor, so I figured I'd start trying to educate myself on fighter design. This book has a lot of basics that are easy to understand for everyone, not just us "rocket scientists". I find the authors style a little bland, but that might be due to my familiarity with the subject matter. Color pictures would help spice things up. Overall I think its a good book for anyone interested in the science behind fighter planes.
