Meisha Camm Does It Again!

A page turner once again! The female characters in "The Mistres" portray a broken heart reality for women who've endured the concubine syndrome. You want to believe you are his #1, not second best, and he'll leave her soon...even after years of broken promises. Sigh...this book broke the mold of the stereotypical "mistress" books, it is a must read, ladies!

Life Lessons Learned From the Mistress

This book taught me to love myself and I deserve better than a married man. The Mistress is an easy read. I sat by the pool and read it in one day. Meisha Camm's first book, Hidden Intentions was a page turner as well. In both of the books, there's at least one character you can relate to. I look forward to her next book. Keep up the good work.

Do You See Yourself as the Wife or Mistress?

Mistress by Meisha J. Camm is a fast-paced, read-in-one-sitting, filled book. I was so overwhelmed with the great descriptions of the characters, that I could visualize them. A story well-told from the beginning to the end. Alexis is the main character and she grew up in a household full of cheating and bad treatment, so in her adulthood she follows what she saw. With low self-esteem and craving unconditional love, Alexis makes bad choices when it comes to men. Looking for love, acceptance and honesty she hooks up with Jarrad. Jarrad is a smooth-talking, good-looking, man who knows which buttons to press to get what he wants from Alexis. Jarrad's only concern is getting his own needs fulfilled, not really caring how he leaves Alexis still craving for attention. Settling for less over and over again, when will Alexis wake up and realize that she deserves better than the relationship she is in with Jarrad? Jarrad has a hold on Alexis that you would not believe and Meisha is so candid with the details you find yourself running, crying, and wishing for the best all at the same time. Can Alexis find true love? All she wants is a man to call her own or will she forever be known as the Mistress? Loved It!

I really enjoyed Meisha Camm's first book, Hidden Intentions, so I knew that her next book would be a good read. I was right. I thought the book was so real. The author didn't hold back in her depiction of Alexis, the main character, and her day to day drama that Jarrad, the no good married man, put her through. I thought Alexis' character seemed so real that I forget I was actually reading a work of fiction. Also, for anyone who loves some steamy love scenes, this is also the book for you. The author was able to keep my attention with each chapter. The book was filled with surprises as well, I never really knew what to expect. Alexis and Jarrad were just a couple of the intriguing characters that the book depicted. I really enjoyed Mistress.

A Decent Read!!

This book was actually pretty good I expected more drama than it had to offer but I was fairly pleased. This book was basically about a young woman named Alexis Gibbs who falls for a man named Jarrod Simmons not knowing that he is already married with two kids. But by the time she finds out its to late becuse she already has fell in love with him so she has a choice to make which is either to get out of the relationship or keep beeing strung along by him.This book has quite a few twists and turns that will leave you wanting more.
