flawless

The entire silverglass series is excellent, I am surprised there aren't more people praising this series.

Silverglass Series

This series is my very favorite of all the numerous sword/sorcery books that I have read over the years. I re-read and re-read them. The books are about to crumble into dust. If only more books had been published!!! This series is solid, and fun. You can't lose with this series!

Great Book, need more in the series

Mistress of Ambiguities is the fourth book inn the Silverglass series by J.F Rivkin. It is a series about a noblewoman/sorceress Nyctasia and her swordswoman companion/bodyguard Corson. The book centers around Nyctasia's continuing efforts to rebuild her city Rhostshyl after a devastating civil war. The setting while in fantasy world is based on the model of Renisance italian city-state with all the attendent Machivallian politics. the story is well paced and intriguing. The book is 203 pages but backs in more story than many 300+ page books. It is a good book if you just want to chill out and read a good story. It can be read on its own but to really understand and enjoy it you need to read the first three books which are equally good. The must unfortunate aspect is that there are several plotlines that were obviously meant to be continued in future volumes which have never been published. But it doesn't detract from the story it just leaves you clamoring for more.

Female warrior and female sorceresses, uniquely done

I'm so bummed that the triology of 'mistress of ambiguities, silverglass, and web of wind' wasnt carried on. ok sure, its the old warrior and sorceress, but it was so well done. the character interaction and development was great, it was like looking in on their lives. the playful arguing and sometimes real disagreements between partners brings to life a relationship that is so mundane in other books. to some extent the adventure was almost superflous, just a vehicle for 'spending time' with them. on the other hands, the adventures were so well done, not predictable endings, complex enough to hold interest but without becoming overwhelming... i can only say, write me another one please!
