I love to hear missionary stories from the field. It gives my heart great encouragement, and this book tells of these stories. The chapters are short and it is a quick easy book to read. What I didn't like about the book is most of the stories are from teenagers sent out on their morman missionary trips, writing letters back home to parents, so the scope of this is quite limited. Furthermore, while Joseph Smith may have had a real miraculous experience with God and he may have the gift of prophesy, I do not believe God called him to add to scripture by writing the Book of Mormon or by starting his own church. I believe God can perform miracles anywhere and through anyone, so I don't doubt that, but I believe the theology at the root of these missionary chronicles is unbiblical and errs on adding to God's Holy Bible and falling under judgment from God at the end of time, so because of that, I found reading these stories off-putting.
