An eye-opener

I read this book in a sociology class, and it certainly shook my belief in the absolute veracity of the psychiatric establishment and ideology. This is post-modern critical theory at its finest, deconstructing a dominator hierarchy and exposing the ambiguous relationship between psychiatric patients and staff. I only give it four out of five stars because it is an excellent job of deconstruction, but deconstruction is really all that it does. This book is an example of the limits of post-modernism that Ken Wilber has so eloquently pointed out in several of his books. For what it is, however, this book is excellent, and should definitely be read.
