Self-Discovery is not an easy task, but requires real work:

Dr. Ken Hemphill presents the discerning of spiritual gifts in a unique way which may be difficult for some to follow. Most people want any easy test to discover their spiritual gifts but Dr. Hemphill uses God's own words to help the reader discern his/her spiritual gifts. The first half of the book is tedious, especially for the reader who wants to "jump" right in to discovering their spiritual gifts. The exercises he presents rely on prayer for discernment. He focuses on improving self-image through God's word and revelation of our inherent self-worth. He guides the reader to a better understanding of how spiritual gifts are to be used for the edification of the body of the church. His book doesn't limit the spiritual gifts of God to those specifically written in the Bible and validates every service to the church as important and enhanced by the working of the Holy Spirit in the individual. The book is not for the casual reader, but for the person who truly wants to understand how and why he/she should use his/her gifts for the body of Christ.
