Ministers with white collars and black secrets

Oh my goodness. This book was off the chain. Since I am a First Lady, it sheds a whole differnt light on a "true man of God". Some are out for personal gain. It gave a whole new meaning for those who are truly feeding the people and not out for their own personal gain. I'm sure this is going on in the church world even today; as the mega churchs are being birthed. Don't get me wrong, our ministry is 2.5 yrs old. My Husband is a Bishop & I am an Evangelist. We both share the same vision of getting the word to the people. He (Leon) did state he had fallen out of love with her a long time ago. But, that doesn't give him a reason to do what he was doing in private or openly. The First Lady character in the book was on to him but did nothing about it. She was afraid of hurting his image; girl please. What about her peace of mind for herself and the children while he is out doing his own thing and she keeping a smile on her face. As well as having people think all is well on the home front. She needs a reality check quick fast and in a hurry.

Had No Idea This Was Going On in the Church!

'Ministers with White Collars and Black Secrets'absolutely blew my mind. I've never read a Christian novel before, and I'm glad I chose this one as my first. It was excellent. I went through it in two days and couldn't wait to get my hands on the sequel. I would like to thank Deborah Smith for exposing some of her 'secrets' and I would also like to give a shout out to one of the main characters, the Great Pastor Leon Booker. A Must Read!

Now we all know the things that go down in churches and here is a great example. This book was refreshing. After reading all these "ghetto" books that have been flooding our streets (not that I'm not reading every one of them), this was a welcomed change. It was recommended by my usual street vendor and I couldn't put it down. Right after I finished it I went right back to the vendor for part II. I haven't gotten to that yet, but if it's only 1/2 as good as Ministers with White Collars and Black Secrets it will still receive 5 stars from me.

AMEN!

It is about time someone told the truth about what is happening in the pulpit. It is refreshing to have an author expose how so called men of GOD choose not to ZIPLOCK the pants, while simultaneously send a message of deliverance. In this creative and whitty novel the author lures you into the main character's world - a world so authentic I am sure those of us in the "church world" either experienced what "Kiyah" went through or know someone who has. Thank GOD for a timely message such as this. A message that tells ministers you about to get exposed!

A Good Look

Deborah Smith takes me on a rollercoaster ride with this witty tale about a scandal that takes place behind the pulpit. I read this book in one day. It's funny, heart-warming and passionate. For this to have been her first novel, she did a great job. She's well on her way. Congratulations Deborah - I just picked up the sequel "Robbed Without A Gun" and I'm looking forward to reading it. Keep up the good work, I predict you have started something new "Holy Hip Hop Fiction" You Go GIRL!!!!
