This is a great introduction to Mikhail Gorbachev for younger (and not-so-younger) readers. Gorbachev's reform movement was unlike anything anyone had ever seen in the then-Soviet Union. He helped vastly improve U.S.-Soviet relations and gave greater freedom and ultimately independence to the Soviet republics. This book, edited by Tom Head, is a compilation of articles published elsewhere that brings together the personal and professional history of one of the great men of the twentieth century.Clearly, a superior choice for individuals and the library & schools market. I found it quite readable and I haven't been a youth for quite some time!
