My Favorite Book Growing Up

I first read this book over 35 years ago. It arrived from a book of the month club my mother had purchased for me one year. We had pets growing up and reading this book added to my lifelong love of dogs. I recommend this book to any parent who wants to teach their children about fitting in and empathy to those who feel like outsiders. I believe books like this can teach children about compassion.
