So worthwhile

For lovers of science and nature this future-world story may lead you to both despair and hope. It starts off slow, but if you stay with it the pace picks up and you’ll be glad you did. I fell in love with several of the characters, and was intrigued by the plot to the last page. I read a great deal, but this is a book that kept me guessing throughout. It’s a story at once both heartbreaking and heartwarming, and highly recommended.

Great intriguing story

Such an interesting book. Started off very slow but picked up. I like how you think you know what’s going on only to learn the truth at the end. Such a good psychological book (not school esc but fiction).

Thought-Provoking and Beautifully Written

Despite the story moving along at a bit of a slower pace, it was difficult to put down. The author paints a masterful picture of the world and of the main character, who truly comes alive through this story. The reader becomes so familiar with the thoughts, feelings, and desires of the main character that she begins to feel like someone you could know in real life. Of course, the overarching storyline has to do with a world wracked by global warming and the extinction of countless species of animals - the inevitability of it all. As the layers of history are pulled away and secrets are revealed, the gritty realism and beautiful storytelling take you on a rollercoaster of emotions leading up to a satisfying - yet grounded - conclusion, with a powerful message about the mark humanity leaves upon the world.
