MUCH better.

Returned my Mastering Windows Server 2003 (Minasi) book today and bought this one. MUCH better. Short, sweet, and to the point. Now I'm getting a handle on what I should care about in Windows 2003. This is great - I hope they keep up with this series. It's a time saver and I'm betting it will help with my MCSE upgrade exmas too.

Just what I needed to know

The Delta Guide really "cuts to the chase" when it comes to uncovering the new features offered by Windows Server 2003. The book is accurate, easy to understand, and concise. If you're already a pro on Windows 2000, this book can really help you get up to speed on Windows Server 2003. If you're even thinking about deploying Microsoft's new server OS, you should add this book to your library.

Top Notch... Microsoft Press ought to take notes

This is a very clear and concise book. If your familiar with Windows 2000 and only want to review the changes in the OS than this is the way to go. I have read a couple of books on Windows Server 2003 and they were more of a review of Windows 2000. If your interested in upgrading your MCSA or MCSE certification to Windows Server 2003 certification, then this book is a must read.

Excellent Book!

For people that already know how Windows 2000 works and want to get ramped up on Windows Server 2003 then this is the book for you. This book does a fantasic job of separating the wheat from the chaff. It clearly lays out what the new key features of Windows Server 2003 are and how to implement them. For example, the chapter on the new Group Policies saved me a ton of time. I was able to quickly get up to speed on new Group Policies and how to manage Group Policies using new management tools such as Resultant Set of Policies and the new Group Policy Management Console. Great book Don and Mark. Keep up the good work!

Filet mignon quality for a hamburger price

No way! A technical book that I actually wanted to read page-by-page, cover-to-cover? Yup. Better yet, this book is so inexpensive! I hate it when I have to pay 60 bucks for a book that has a couple of really great chapters, sandwiched between "Introduction to TCP/IP" and "How to use Event Viewer".The book's value is not just the cost, but moreover in terms of your time. The layout has been very well planned. Every chapter includes a brief "What's New" section that gives a broad overview of what has changed in Server 2003. Then, it follows up by giving specific details about the where, why and (most importantly) the how of the new features. Some of the stuff I have not seen anywhere else.In a couple advanced topic areas, the book assumes that most seasoned Windows 2000 users are not be completely familiar with the technology (when was the last time you installed Certificate Services?), and it gives a brief refresher. But other than that, prepare for solid, in-depth, real-world technical "meat".
