A duck? Mickey would much rather be a spider, but things look up once he starts working on his costume and practicing his part. Disaster strikes, though, when his costume is mined on opening night! Everyone in Mickey's family pitches in, and they create a new costume Just in time. This spirited ode to diversity, imagination, elementary school drama, and yes, the duck, is sure to strike a familiar chord with anyone who has ever I been involved with a class play. Curtain up!
Picked up this book at the library, not knowing anything about the author. The kids (ages 7 and 3) really liked this book. Great colorful pictures, a good story about a family working together, and diversity. Younger children will enjoy the pictures, and animal references, while older children will like the positive message.
A great book for a couple of reasons

I picked up this book because my son was in his first class play, but it is about MORE than that. It teaches a lesson about accepting differences, making the best of what you have and finding the silver lining. Has very colorful pictures of children in a variety of animal costumes.
