Loved it!

I'm planning a trip with my husband to France this July and this guide was SO helpful! If you want to find places with lots of character and that are affordable, this is the right guide for you. Here you won't find hotel chains, which is something I always avoid, but lots of small lovely b & bs and hotels. The places we'll be staying at all came from this guide and there was no way I would have thought of them if I didn't have the guide. I made further research over the internet on the b & bs I chose and they all had very good reviews at [...], also a great source of information on places to stay. I plan to review this review when I come back from the trip, writing if the b & bs were all that I expected them to be - but I pretty much trust the Michelin inspectors.

Best Guide to Places to Stay in France

This is the first no-brainer best guide to elegant yet inexpensive accomadations. It helps to dispel the myth that France=TROP CHERE! The hotels and B & B's listed are inexpensive, but not run-down holes in the wall. They are chic, "charming" inns that won't break the bank. The accomadations are listed organized by region and city, and every selection includes a Michelin perk regarding the location, establishment, food, attractions etc. BUY THIS BOOK if you are searching for the right way to travel France.

Three for three

Booked three places from this book for a trip through burgandy. One was in town, "snug," but entirely adequate. The other two were magical little places with no more than five rooms a piece. Apparently one has been a "hotel" since the 12th century, the other was a little five room place run in the middle of the families vineyard. Should have used the book for all of our places.
