A Positive Read

When first released, this book was intended for the 80s youth of America. A time when pop culture was at the height of social decision-making. Yes, 80s had the BEST celebrities, TV Shows, & cultural phenomenons. And hey, I grew up mostly in 90s, & I know this. It's just a fact of life that CAN NOT be changed. Statistically & objectively speaking - 80s were the greatest decade in entertainment! In fact, almost EVERY successful movie franchise in the last couple of years, is a rehash of 80s tv or cinema. For example- Transformers, Indiana Jones, E.T., Friday the 13th, Nightmare On Elm St., etc; Ok, sorry for the rant on how great the 80s were... but you have to know how the times were to understand how a book like this would effect millions of children. Kids that saw Michael EVERYWHERE on tv, in magazines. Kids whose siblings were always talking about the King of Pop. Reading a simple book like this is probably what spawned those millions of kids to become fans & get a deeper knowledge of MJ the person. The book is what it is, but it was about the right person at the right time!
