Phew! I've had this book for over ten years, and just finished reading it. Most of the reviews have been so condemning of it, I know there are many diehard Jackson fans who wouldn't believe he's a pedophile if they saw it with their own eyes. I was a fan too, I think he's brilliant as an entertainer. But this was written many years before his recent trial for child molestation. It mentions so many incidents that only make the case against him completely believable. The book tells the whole story of his life up to the 1993 accusations of abuse which were bought off to the tune of 20 plus million dollars. I enjoyed the book, believe that most, if not all, the author has written is true, if not, why hasn't Jackson sued him for libel? Lots of information on this child-man, his weirdness and one of a kind personality. Definitely worth reading.
I couldn't put it down

The whole Michael Jackson situation is like a train wreck. You're horrified but you can't look away.Sorry MJ's fans can't handle the truth, but look at everything that has happened since Mr. Andersen's book was written in 1994. I mean, what does it take to open their eyes????
this book is definitely dirt-digging

i personally liked the book, merely because i happen to be a very strong michael jackson fan. i found out that he has had a very illustrious childhood, and had came out of the media's insults by rising to stardom. even after that, the media would still not give up. this book took his life to a controversial level, all the more reason to like it.
Mean-spirited, sleazy fun!

"Michael Jackson Unauthorized" is everything a trashy "unauthorized" show-biz biography should be: sleazy, mean-spirited, and extremely ugly. It will definitely offend most of his fans, but if you've ever been skeptical about the Michael Jackson "phenomenon" (like I have), the book is a highly entertaining dissection of this pathetic, pretentious, and terminally freakish pop star.
