A beautifully crafted novel

Norman Zollinger is the master of the historical novel, and Meridian is probably his finest. In it, he presents Kit Carson, as seen through the eyes of a younger and admiring friend. Zollinger's honest and rich portrayal of an American legend does not neglect Carson's darker moments, especially during the conquest of California.
