Very Disappointed

I was very disappointed in this book. To begin with the entire book is written in hillbilly English. I'm an Appalichian southern gal and it was just too over-the-top hillbilly even for me. She introduces many, many characters and doesn't build the character or their storyline. She jumps timeliness with no segue and leaves you lost wondering what era you're in. And my biggest complaint is for her to be a Christian author, she sure gives Christianity a black eye with the main character, a pastor who is a very abusive pervert. And he dominates the storyline throughout the entire 264 pages. Not to mention the fact that the climax of the story doesn't happen until the next to the last page of the book. This was my first book by Cindy Sproles and it will definitely be my last.

Page Turner

I'm not a fast reader, but I had this finished in one week. The author weaves a story that puts pictures and impeccable scenery in your mind, as well as making you feel like you really know the characters. Very well done, but the topic is at times difficult, with the abuse the character endures and overcomes.

This book is hard to put down. I highly recommend it and her other books.
