God created human beings in His image-and He created us to be sexual beings. Sex, as God's creation, should be something beautiful and loving that's shared between two individuals. Unfortunately, the violence of sexual assault has left a legacy of pain and trauma in the lives of far too many women. Although healing requires time and professional help, a healthy relationship with God and a strong faith are two ways to speed recovery.
This inspirational study of God's Word focuses on women who have experienced sexual assault and the process of healing and interacting with God's plan. A biblical understanding of suffering-as well as the process of relearning to trust-will comfort women and facilitate a better understanding of sexual assault. Women will be encouraged that the journey toward healing starts with the belief that they are beloved daughters of God-even in the midst of the grief of trauma.
Dealing with anger, forgiveness, trust, hope, and other important aspects of recovery, Mend: Journey to Sexual Healing is a Bible-centered study that will supplement other therapeutic strategies and help survivors take hold of God's message of hope.
