Fantastic gift

I got this cookbook for my wife's birthday and I want to get one for all the cooks in my family now. The pictures are vivid and the instructions are clear. My family likes cookbooks with pictures and this fit the bill. It has over 500 pages of good recipes with good looking food. I haven't had it long enough to make anything from it yet. But I don't have any complaints so far.

The only cook booked I've ever loved

Normally not a fan of cookbooks, but this is wonderful. I've tried many of the recipes, and each has been delicious.

I love this book

Amazing recipes, beautiful pictures, this is a wonderful cookbook. The book is very well written, combining excellent recipes with history of the area. I had been looking for new vegetable recipes, and here they are! The recipes I have tried are simple, delicious and on target with measurements and timings. This really does have it all - meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, vegetables and desserts (make sure to try the Lemon Tart - YUMMY). The pictures are step by step to show you the recipe from start to finish. If you are or you know someone that is trying to eliminate processed foods from their lifestyle, this is a great addition to your library.

Useful and beautiful

I have two points of reference for talking about this book: I lived in France and adore French cooking, especially Provençal, and I am a book designer and photographer. This book has turned out to be my favorite go-to resource over the past couple of years (the other one being Rosso and Lukins, The New Basics Cookbook). Of the dozens of recipes I have tried, every single one has been wonderful, not only in taste and appearance, but quantities and directions were also accurate. Finally, the quality of the photographs (beautiful crockery, food styling, lighting) and the ease of reading make this a complete joy to use. Enthusiastically recommended!
