BLess his Heart

Hibbeler is probably the most reliable author when it comes to Mechanics of Materials. A must have for Mechancial, Environmental, Civil and Materials Engineers. Explains everything in the easiest and most practical matter, without skipping anything of value.

Best textbook I've ever had

Simple, concise, great examples, great illustrations, great problems. The style is: present a topic briefly, derive equation(s) quickly, show 3-4 examples of using said equation(s), give a couple dozen problems, and move right on to the next topic. Thanks Mr. Hibbeler, for making engineering students' lives just a bit easier.

Comments on this book.

I am an author of this book, so I cannot review it. But I want to point out that the review by "mr303" cannot have been written about this book, because the book will be used in the classroom for the first time this spring, so the reviewer cannot have taken a course using it. Furthermore, the identical review by the same reviewer appears with the listings of other books having the same title, so it's clear there's just been a mixup. Also, the listing of this book gives the wrong publisher; it is published by Prentice Hall.

Great Book

This is a great textbook for engineering students as well as practicing engineers who want to keep in touch with this subject. It is unfortunate that at least one of the reviews of this text seems misplaced. The review by mr303 cannot have been written about this book, because it has not been out long enough for the reviewer to have taken a course using it. The identical review by the same reviewer also appears with the listing of the book Mechanics of Materials by R. C. Hibbeler, so perhaps this review has mistakenly become attached to the listings of several books with the same title. Also, the wrong publisher is listed for this book. It is published by Prentice Hall.
