This is one of the best novels I've read in a long time. I loved that it's about women born in the thirties, and that it's about African American women. I believe it will have great appeal to the older woman.

A "Must Read" that will stir up all emotions in a real and satisfying way!

As I read this book, I had a very difficult time putting it down when it was time to go to bed! I found myself wanting more and more as I finished my nightly ritual of reading a few chapters. This book focuses on four African American girls, who are all good friends growing up in Mississippi. It takes you on an emotional ride of their lives filled with laughter, tears, joy, and sadness. When you reach the last page, not only will you be satisfied, you'll find yourself wanting to know and feel more!! Excellent read Augusta....can't wait until the sequel!

Well Told Tale of an All-Black Southern Town, A Peyton Place

I don't read much fiction, but this is the kind of fiction for which I make an exception. The book is very readable, not-to-be-put-down, with excellent, memorable characters and a sure-fire plot. I have gotten quite a few of my friends and several co-workers to read the book, and they have all enjoyed it and passed their copy onto friends and relatives. Roy Cameron
