This is a great book to read just before taking the exam. However, do not use it as an only resource. I like the parts that say "Know This" and "Test Tip" because they point out key facts you should know for the test. With the help of this book, I passed the Exam. Definitely worth the $20. Good luck to all.
Good overview for MCSE, don't use it as your only source

This was my primary source to learn and pass the Networking Essentials MCSE test. It didn't cover everything on the exam, so don't use this as your only resource. Study up on those Microsoft objectives first, then study the areas with this book.

I used this book in conjunction with Exam Cram and found it more thorough, as well as more understandable. I got an excellent score on the test and purchased more books in this series.

Like the test, this book was an essential part in me passing the Network Essentials exam. It had many descriptive protocol stack examples, good test scenarios, and indepth descriptions of all the OSI stack layer/corresponding equipment (routers, repeaters, etc) and protocols. Its shows you many tips, tricks, and test trap examples that will help you concentrate on the necessaries to passing this exam. Get the book!
Helped a lot

This book helped me a lot. It cuts all the fluff out and gives you the nitty gritty. I finished the new CAT test in 26 questions. As any of you who have taken the new adaptive tests know you take a minimum of 25 questions and a maximum of 35 depending on your answers. I am definitely a fan, and will use this series from now on to help me prepare for the test. The text books I will use to get a general knowlege, but I will use this to study.
