It provided me with many ideas for networking projects for my classes when I needed them in a hurry

Several years ago when I was suddenly pressed into service as a teacher of networking, I needed to design the course in a hurry. With no syllabus or any other information, I was literally starting with nothing. I began looking through manuals for hints and ideas for lab exercises, and this book was one of my staples. While I never used anything verbatim, it was a big help in giving me ideas for major exercises in working with the Windows 2000 network. By combining, expanding and modifying the basic hands-on ideas for networking exercises appearing in this book, I was able to create enough work to keep the students busy for two semesters. The coverage of the major areas is generally complete and I found the review material at the end of the sections very helpful, as I needed to do a great deal of brushing up before I presented the topics to the class.
