Must Buy

If you're planning to do anything more than just sit on the beach and eat at your hotel in Mazatlan, this book is a must buy. My wife and I were in Mazatlan five years ago and we're returning in February. I bought this book to prepare for the trip, and I wish we had it the last time we were there because we missed a lot. The book is well written and organized, and the author provides you with enough information about hotels, sights, restaurants, tours, etc., without bogging the reader down with too much detail. It's also plain that the author has a genuine love for native Mazatlan residents, which results in a book that appeals to travelers who appreciate the Mexican culture and want to experience more than the sterotypical "gringo" in Mazatlan. Indeed, there are even sections for persons interested in buying a home and working in Mazatlan. Hopefully I'll see Mr. Hall while I'm there so I can thank him for writing the book.

Great Overview of Mazatlan

Of all the guidebooks I've every bought, this one proved the most useful of any. From restaurant reviews to medical or real estate info, this book delivers. Written by a person who really knows Mazatlan. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Mazatlan. Also just an enjoyable format that makes me want to meet the author.

This Book is the Real Deal

If you're thinking about going to Mazatlan, this is a must book to read. It's written by someone whom has lived and experienced everyday Mazatlan life. There is no "candy coating" information - just the facts ma'am.

This book was essential during my travel plannning to Mazatlan. Charles Hall covers every little detail. The only book that I found on Mazatlan only. All others included other beach resorts or the entire Pacific Mexico, etc. A must read if going to Mazatlan.
