From observations made aboard an exploratory space voyage of moonlings to Earth, a moon lad deduces that life exists on the new planet This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is about a boy, living on the moon, who comes along on an exploratory voyage to Earth. The lunar natives predict Earth will be lifeless due to presence of so much "poisonous" oxygen. They decide to land at the north pole where the thinner air might allow some type of inhabitants to survive. Finding nobody there, they return to the moon with their ideas about the absence of life on Earth intact. The story gently illustrates the subjectivity of observations based on false assumptions.

I read this book when I was a child. It's about a young boy who dreams of one day becoming the captain of a space ship. He signs on as an ensign of a ship and begins and adventurous space voyage. This book is ideal for boys ages 8-12. The entire series is well-written and hard to put down. The series is illustrated with great imagination by Gahan Wilson.
