I loved it...I can't believe it received such bad reviews!

I truly loved it...I'm not a big romance fan, and if you are, this isn't for you. Yes, as someone mentioned in their review, it is a bit disturbing, but it's well written, and the characters and situations are defined very well. In my opinion, it's one of her best written books.

My mother-in-law has macular degeneration and cannot see well. She is an avid reader and absolutely adores Danielle Steel. I am commenting on the fact that I gave her the audiobook version of this book. She LOVED it and is listening to it again.
Review of Matters of the Heart

If you are a Danielle Steele fan you will find this to be one of the best of her collection - it is written with such heart and soul you feel as if you are right there in the story. This story truly touches your heart - it keeps you enthralled - there is a magic in her stories that takes you back to a time in Europe that makes you feel alive inside - it makes you feel as if you are there and walking down the cobblestone streets. You feel the heartache and the joy of this beautifully written book. I am so glad I got it in hardback - I will read it again and again - this is one that is not to be missed - it truly is a compelling story and for me it is a number 1 in her collection. Tori

If you are a Danielle Steel fan as myself, of course you will love this book and will want to read it rather you purchase it or get it from the library. It was a book that was hard to put down and it keep you wondering what was going to happen next. Really enjoyed. If you have never read Danielle Steel this might not be the best of her books to start out with but I think you will still enjoy reading it. She is a wonderful writter and I love all her books
