The dictionary is based on two principles - ideographic and diachronic. It shows the system of figurative means of Russian literature in its relation to the poetic picture of the world and the evolution of the system. In the first edition of the dictionary contains the semantic fragment of this system - "Birds", one of the most active and significant in the literature. The work consists of three parts.
