they way it should be done

This is they way it should be done. Right to the point. Not some arrogant teacher trying to impress students with what he/she knows, while managing not to teach anything. For me, this was a quick and refreshing review after 30 years out of school. 'Solving Systems of linear equations with 2 or 3 Unknown Variables' was never made so easy. Clear and concise. That's the approach. If you are looking for a quick and comprehensive review, this is the book. I have order her next book 'Geometry'. I thought it would be better to order the 3rd book in the series after reading both the 'Geometry' and 'Trigonometry' books.

The Best Basic Algebra Book Available!

This is the best book out there on learning basic algebra. Like the other Master Math books by Ross, the topics flow logically so that what you are learning or looking up is in context with the information around it. It is thorough yet concise. You do not need to wade through irrelevant information as you do in other books. The information is explained clearly and in a way that makes sense. What is really being explained and what are you really learning are evident. What a breath of fresh air after the often confusing text books students are given in school. I really feel I can explain algebra to young people using this book!

Master Math

This book has an excellent treatment of word problems which are at the heart of student problems in algebra. Some students simply cannot translate verbiage into mathematical equations. This book has a step-by-step explanation of the transition between language, numerical representations and the construction of unique solution sets. The book would be extremely helpful to both teachers and students alike. It contains many practical problems with step-by-step solutions. Some students never learn algebra correctly. That is a shame. This book can help the chronically puzzled students out of the quagmire of incomplete understanding of the material.

Learn algebra in leaps instead of baby steps.

In "Master Math: Algebra," Debra Anne Ross teaches algebraic techniques without breaking concepts into tiny pieces and assigning an excess of practice problems. This book will be useful for people who are more able than the average, people who can learn from the printed word, systematic thinkers and those who learned algrbra easily and need to recoup their knowledge. I am using it to teach a gifted nine-year-old. Since traditional textbooks are aimed at a fairly slow learner, we would have to do several lessons each day using a traditional text. Using "Master Math: Algebra," we study one page each day, covering a new idea completely
